Welcome to Saginaw, MI!
Located in central Michigan, Saginaw has been shaped by fur trading, pine lumbering and agriculture, making it a port city and an industrial center. The many surrounding lakes, rivers and parks create a great tourism appeal for activities in the area. Residents and visitors can enjoy the annual outdoor athletic events of horseback riding, golf, tennis, boating, fishing and hunting. Some recreational, cultural and sightseeing opportunities include: the 9,427-acre (3815-ha) Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge, home to over 270 bird species; a farmers’ market that dates back to the turn of the century; and the Andersen Enrichment Center, which hosts and encourages a range of cultural events. Ojibway Island, another popular spot, provides a venue for summer festivals and concerts as well as hiking and biking trails. Saginaw entertainment can be found in the central downtown area, including theaters and live entertainment venues such as the Dow Event Center, also home to the Saginaw Spirit Hockey Club.
Tourist Attractions

Located in a restored Pere Marquette Railroad depot, the Saginaw Railroad Museum was established in 1982.
